Symbolism Post

It was Christmas eve and Tina Jefferson was leaving the house to go out with her friend Brian. Tina's dad was yelling at her because he was saying that it is Christmas eve and you shouldn't be out. Tina didn't listen and went to go meet Brian at the restaurant anyway. Once Tina got to the restaurant she spotted Brian at a booth. She walked over and sat down across from him. He asked how she was doing and she said she was doing fine. The waiter came by and Tina and Brian placed their order. Then Brian started talking about his boss and Tina started to be less interested because she saw a family at the table behind Brian. She soon realized she made a mistake about leaving her family on Christmas eve to go out and have dinner with a friend. Tina said she had to go and went home to be with her family.

 - The symbolic message in this story is that family comes first. Tina realized she needed to see her parents because they won't be around forever and you only get so many Christmas'. This is the overall message of the story.

How To make Duck Poppers

There are many ways to make duck poppers first you go to the grocery store and get these few ingredients Cream cheese, duck, jalapeƱos and Bacon. Next you slice the bacon in half then you cut the duck into smaller pieces and put it on the bacon. Next you add cream cheese and jalapeƱos and roll them up until they are tightly pact then put a toothpick through the bacon to keep it from unraveling.
You repeat this process until you have enough you would like. After that you put them on a charcoal grill and cook them for about 20 minutes or until they get Brown. Next thing you do is you get pepper jelly and barbecue sauce and mix them together and put them in the microwave until everything is melted. After that you dip the popper in the barbecue sauce and enjoy.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Not very often my whole extended family is together at once. This includes my grandma, uncles, aunts, cousins, and of course, my family. I love sitting around the table and taking in their presence. There are many things my family does during the Thanks giving day from about 8:00 in the morning my parents start to cook. Preparing the Turkey, Making the sweet potato casserole, and many other delicacies that my family likes.
Thanksgiving has always been one of the most fun times out of the year because usually my uncle and my cousin come down the first week of the Thanksgiving break and we go hunt, fish, watch LSU games and much more. Out of all the Holidays I think I will remember this one the most because of all the older relatives i get to spend time with.

Most Critical Scene LOTF

In Lord of the Flies, one of the most critical scenes is when Simon is hallucinating and talking to the pig's head on stick. The pig's head is described as the lord of the flies. This scene is so critical because of the ways the author uses the pig's head to symbolize other things. For one, the head represents Beelzebub, or the devil's right hand man. This is a weird metaphor because Beelzebub is depicted as a type of fly and the pig's head is called the lord of the flies because he is surrounded by flies. In his hallucination, when Simon is talking to the lord of the flies, Simon believes that the lord of flies tries to inflict chaos on the island.

Also, as Simon is talking to the lord of the flies, he talks about the beast and how he wants to visit the top of the mountain, so the pig's head responds by saying if he went to the top of the mountain he will ruin the fun, so all of the boys will kill him. This is interesting because he is talking to the lord of the flies in his head, but the pig knows a lot about what is going to occur in future events. This scene also relates to scenes in the bible when Jesus is alone and is very thirsty and is tempted in the dessert by Satan, just like Simon.

1st Passage annotations

This passage starts off saying that the world was slipping away. William Golding means that all the order and the structure that Ralph had put in place on the island was breaking. Jack does't respect the things that Ralph put in place to maintain order, or any rules for that matter. Ralph loses it with Jack and doesn't care about keeping him happy anymore so he screams at him. This shows a major division between Ralph and Jack because they are past the point where they tried to solve their problems with one another.

Jack shows that he can kill things instead of maintaining order to show power. However in contrast Ralph shows his power by his adult like appearance and intelligence towards order. This sentence shows that Jack is very caught up in his instinct to kill something that he says he can maintain order by killing everything. This shows me that Jack is going to gain the favor of most of the  kids due to the fact that most kids want to kill and have fun like Jack.

Prompt

Prompt: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? Explain what you would do here and why you chose this specific place.

If I could go anywhere in the world I would to Paris France. I would want to go to Paris because there is so much rich culture in this area dating back to the middle ages such as castles, artifacts in museums, architecture and much more that interests me. Another reason i would want to go there is because it is a very beautiful and peaceful place in the world with music, lighting, and exotic food.
Some things i would do there would be to go to the Eiffel tower during night so it is lit up. Another thing i would do would be go to the royal family castles and tour them because the royal family has been a part of France for a very long time. Another thing I would do if i went to Paris would be to go and try as many exotic foods as possible because you can always try something new.
